Creative learning. real support.

Not every young person thrives in a traditional classroom.

At The Scene Alternative Provision, we provide a creative, supportive environment where young people can rebuild confidence, develop new skills and reconnect with learning through meaningful projects.

Our programme is designed for young people who need a different approace - one that values relationships, creativity and individual strengths.

WHO WE SUPPORT.

We work with young people who may be:

  • NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)

  • Experiencing anxiety or emotionally based school avoidance

  • Waiting for an educational placement

  • Accessing education through an EHCP

  • Referred by schools, local authorities or social care

  • Looking to develop confidence, communication and employability skills

Every young person is different, so every journey is different too.

LEARNING THROUGH CREATIVITY.

Our projects use theatre as a starting point, but they extend far beyond performance.

Students may explore:

Drama & Theatre Making

Create original performances from scratch using our unique Devise & Conquer method.

Creative Writing

Develop characters, stories, scripts and podcasts.

Podcasting & Digital Media

Learn to communicate ideas through audio and digital storytelling.

Arts & Crafts

Creative projects that encourage focus, wellbeing and self-expression.

Confidence & Communication

Build the skills needed for everyday life, further education and employment.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

We believe young people flourish when they feel:

  • Safe

  • Seen

  • Valued

  • Challenged

  • Creative

Our sessions are intentionally small, allowing us to build genuine relationships and provide personalised support.

Rather than asking, "Why isn't this young person engaging?"

We ask,

"What environment will help them succeed?"

A TYPICAL DAY

Every day combines creativity with personal development.

A session might include:

  • Creative check-in

  • Collaborative theatre project

  • Break

  • Creative workshop (podcasting, writing or crafts)

  • Reflection and goal setting

No two days are exactly the same, but every day provides structure, routine and purpose.

BUILDING LIFE SKILLS

Everything we do is designed to help young people prepare for the future.

Our programme develops:

  • Confidence

  • Communication

  • Teamwork

  • Problem-solving

  • Creativity

  • Emotional resilience

  • Independence

  • Employability skills

These are transferable skills that support young people wherever they choose to go next.

WORKING TOGETHER.

We work in partnership with:

  • Local Authorities

  • Schools

  • Colleges

  • Social Care Teams

  • Families

  • Personal Budget Holders

Together, we create personalised pathways that meet each young person's individual needs.

OUR APPROACH.

At the heart of everything we do is one simple belief:

Every young person has something valuable to contribute.

Sometimes they just need the right environment to discover it.

Through creativity, encouragement and genuine support, we help young people reconnect with learning, build confidence and take positive steps towards their future.
